Biography:
Nawoda Prabhashwari Ilangasinghe is an environmental professional with a strong academic background and a passion for sustainability. She earned a first-class honors degree in Environmental Management from Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, where she conducted undergraduate research on Green Criminology and wildlife conservation.
Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering at Babeș-Bolyai University, Romania, further deepening her expertise in environmental science and sustainability. Nawoda has gained valuable experience through her work at the Central Environmental Authority of Sri Lanka, actively contributing to sustainability programs and environmental awareness initiatives.
In addition to her environmental work, she has also served as a teacher, using education as a tool to promote environmental consciousness. Through her research, professional experience, and advocacy, Nawoda remains committed to advancing sustainable environmental practices and policies.
Research Interest:
Nawoda Prabhashwari Ilangasinghe’s research focuses on integrating Indigenous Knowledge into modern environmental practices to enhance Climate Resilience and promote Sustainable Water Management. She is particularly interested in developing sustainable practices that foster ecological balance, ensuring long-term environmental stability. Her work aims to bridge traditional wisdom with contemporary scientific approaches to create resilient and adaptive environmental solutions.
