Abstract Title: Modelling the Dispersion of Industrial Air Pollutants in Guwahati Using the Gaussian Plume Model
Biography:
Dhritimona Deka is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Environmental Science at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata. Her research focuses on industrial air pollution modeling, employing dispersion techniques such as the Gaussian Plume Model. She has conducted extensive field surveys across more than a dozen industries in Guwahati and has actively contributed to GIS-based air quality assessments. This presentation marks her debut at an international conference, reflecting her growing engagement in global environmental research.
Research Interest:
Dhritimona Deka's research interests lie in industrial air pollution modeling, atmospheric dispersion techniques, and environmental monitoring. She is particularly focused on applying the Gaussian Plume Model to evaluate pollutant dispersion from industrial sources. Her work also includes GIS-based analysis for spatial assessment of air quality. She is keen on exploring sustainable solutions to industrial emissions and enhancing data-driven environmental policy through scientific modeling and field-based assessments.
