Abstract Title: Individual and Combined Effects of Atrazine and Glyphosate on Mussel Physiology: An Ecotoxicological Assessment

Biography:

Dr. Davide Di Paola is a Researcher (RTDa) in Ecology at the Department of Chemical, Biological, Pharmaceutical and Environmental Sciences, University of Messina, Italy. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Biology and Experimental Medicine with a thesis focused on the embryotoxic effects of emerging environmental pollutants using fish embryo toxicity assays.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Di Paola has played key roles in several national and international projects related to offshore windfarm environmental assessments and biodiversity conservation, serving as team leader for oceanographic surveys and ecotoxicological analyses. He has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and has contributed actively to the scientific community as Guest Editor for journals such as Journal of Marine Science and Engineering, Toxics, and Biology. Additionally, he serves as Review Editor for Frontiers in Environmental Science and Associate Editor for the Journal of Biological Research.

Research Interest:

Dr. Davide Di Paola's research primarily focuses on marine ecotoxicology and environmental monitoring. He is particularly interested in contaminants of emerging concern, such as microplastics, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and mycotoxins. His work aims to assess the effects of these pollutants on marine ecosystems, and he has been involved in several national and international projects related to environmental assessments for offshore windfarms and biodiversity conservation.
