Biography:
As a dedicated Environmental Engineer with a strong academic background (both Bachelors-2019 and Masters-2021 in Environmental Engineering) and currently pursuing PhD in Environmental Science focusing on Sustainable Biodegradable products & Bioplastic Production.
With 5+ years of experience in eco-environmental green companies, research institutions, and government projects (Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board - TNPCB, World Bank Project), I've developed a unique understanding of environmental management intricacies. My roles have included:
- Representing TNPCB in government meetings and site visits.
- Coordinating with nodal departments (Central Pollution Control Board, Dept. of Environment, Dept. of Forestry & Climate Change).
- Collaborating with NGOs, civil society, academia, and private sector. My technical skills and passion for sustainability make me a strong fit for contributing to impactful projects.
Research Interest:
Ms. Shilpa Neelam's research interests center on sustainable environmental engineering with a strong emphasis on the development of biodegradable materials and bioplastic production as eco-friendly alternatives to conventional plastics. She is particularly focused on advancing green polymer engineering, waste-to-resource technologies, and circular economy strategies to reduce plastic pollution and promote sustainable manufacturing. Her work also explores environmental management systems, industrial compliance, pollution control policies, and the integration of scientific innovation with regulatory frameworks. Through interdisciplinary collaboration with government agencies, research institutions, and environmental organizations, she aims to develop scalable, policy-aligned solutions that support climate resilience and sustainable development.
