Zurich, a renowned hub for global banking and finance, is situated at the northern tip of Lake Zurich in the northern region of Switzerland. The charming streets of the historic Altstadt (Old Town), flanking both banks of the Limmat River, echo its ancient, pre-medieval heritage. Along the river, you will find scenic waterfront promenades such as the Limmatquai, leading to the 17th-century Rathaus (town hall) Zurich, Switzerland largest city and the capital of the canton of Zurich, is situated in an Alpine landscape at the northwestern edge of Lake Zurich. This bustling metropolis, known for its financial, cultural, and industrial significance, extends between two forested hill ranges, approximately 40 miles (60 km) from the northern foothills of the Alps.
